Another Year Almost History

Time waits for no man. It has moved so rapidly here in my little corner of the world. It has been  a good year and have much to be thankful for. God has been helping in my seasoned years to get closer to Him.

We will have two more great children born in the coming year. That will make a whopping total of 19 greats, and some I don't get to see as often as I like. I would love to try a get a photo of all of them together. I will work toward that. Lets see if I can get that accomplished for the new year approaching.

Had a few health issues this year. Had to have cataracts removed and then some laser and some lasik work done.... sure is nice not to have to wear glasses only when I read.

Got a new phone .... coming up in the tech world. That is one thing I don't catch on to very fast. I was looking at someones ipad thee other day.. Awesome.... wow would I love to have one.

Hubby is been busy doing his wood working down in the barn. Has a nice little shop where he can spend some of his quiet time there.  Building park benches for the golf course where our son works.

Nugget is still our little buddy. He is great company

And the scratch games this year have been fun especially if a certain son-in-law wins... Ha ha. " He always wins"...

Oh this is so boring... maybe I am not a blog person but I sure do enjoy all your blogs..

More later.... and there is a quilt being made too. For Zach my great grand son in s
Springfield... almost done . Will post pictures when it is finished.

A Quilt in the making.

I haven't forgot about my quilt that I am making for Zac Wagner......  my great grand son. But it is so hot upstairs in my sewing room... No central air.... But it is in the making... soon... will post it..  Hope you all are having a wonderful summer . It is going by us too fast. Talk to all later.

Old Person Pride

Any old people blogging...... thought you might enjoy this one.

Old Person Pride

I never really liked the term " Old Person" but this makes me feel better about it! I got this from an "old  person" friend of mine.

Old people are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National  Anthem. Old people remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.

Old people remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peace -keeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam...

If you bump into an Old Person on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Person on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old People trust strangers and are courtly to women.

Old People hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

Old People get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filthy or dirty language on TV or in movies.

Old People have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grand children.

It's the Old People who know our great country is protected , not by politicians, but by young men and women in the military serving their country.

This country needs Old People with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Thank God For Old People.

I was taught to respect my elders, it's just getting harder to find them.

When life gives you scraps.... make a quilt.... or even better yet.. take it to the Lord.

..... yea, life gives us a few punches now and then. .....people... circumstances...  situations beyond our control. So hard to figure out sometimes. Thank God for Jesus and his wonderful love. He loves me just the way I am. A friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Here is my latest finished project. A gift to a swell couple that we love every much.

I am going to try and lay off the pink for a while. I liked this pattern in a magazine so I tryed it.

Had to have cateract surgery so the quilting will have a slight delay. Can't see the stitches real good yet. But I will as time goes on and I will be at it again..... Soon!

Had a touch od spring this week... and guess what???? we can see the grass!!!!!! First time since December.  It has been so cold here in Ohio... today it is very windy.. blow you away.. if  reminds me of the winters we had when I was a little girl..... and that has been a while...

Sure do enjoy all the posts on all your blogs.  Hope to get better at it some day.

Well more later... and I don't kn ow how long is later.

A new Year... 2011

Hello everyone. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. May the Lord bless you with a great year.

This quilt is my 12th quilt that I have been able to do. Some of them were small though. This is full size for my beautiful little red headed great grand daughter, Aubrea. She likes pink . It feels so good when I get one done. So I can start on another one. And yes I have to count my pennies. I take advantage of all the sales I can. I found this material in the Amish country for only three dollars a yard. I like those kind of sales. Got the other one started. So you'll see it when it is done.

Today is 1-1-11..... saw this today on facebook and thought it was clever. God only knows what this year will hold for us. I really feel we are right at the end of time. My prayer is " Now more than ever guide my footsteps everyday. Now more than ever in thy spirit help me stay. Open up your word to me , give me eyes that I can see. For I need you Lord now more tha ever. "

God help our nation.

Hope you all have had a good day and your football team wins.

Burrrrrrrrr!!!!! It's Cold Outside

If this is any indecation of how winter is going to be , we are in for it. It is so cold here in Ohio and the temps are not changing for a while. I feel so sorry for my dog. He can't take the cold very long so I have to put a coat on him and boots on the back feet. He looks so funny but he just pounces throw the snow. We have hill in back yard and he brags me up it and down it several times before his does his job..... poohing...... by the time we both get in the house we have had our exercise.

Got some cookies baked today. I am not a good cookie baker but I think they will pass.  By the way have you ever tasted Ritz crackers dipped in chocolate.   They are sooooooo good. Can't stop at one.

Jamie's benifet turned out great. So many people were there. We couldn't find a place to set. There was standing room only and the weather was terrible, plus a winter advisory, but people really showed they care.I think they took in quite a sum of money, thank the Lord. I can't imagine the bills they will be having from the treatments even if you do have insurance, it doesn't cover everything. I pray it was a great encouragement to them.

My hubby just informed me that more snow is coming tomorrow. It is going to be a white Christmas. And speaking of that, I think people go way too far with this holiday. I'll watch my words but it would be nice if people would check out what this holiday really stands for. Oh, well..... after all , God has the last say.

Setting here drinking my hot water and just looked at the clock.... oh it is time to get off here and get to bed. Night all
